In our previous Substack post highlighting Dr. Jerome Corsi’s The Little Red Book of Democrat Socialist Lies: The 2020 Presidential Election Edition, we exposed the Left’s obsession with providing sanctuary to criminals, in this post, we provide conclusions for this series.
Conclusion
The preceding chapters present a brief view into the dark and dismal world the Democrat Socialists running for president in 2020 want to create for their fellow Americans.
Clearly, Donald Trump running for re-election under the banner of “Keep America Great” (KAG) can contrast his view of the next four years favorably with a Democrat Socialist candidate who promises to impose a nearly endless list of new taxes that will be a drag on the economy. To finance universal health care, including for illegal immigrants, as well as free college for all, the Democrat Socialist will have to go beyond simply taxing the rich to a policy of endorsing the idea the United States can thrive economically by simply printing more fiat currency.
Then we face unrestricted abortion on demand, including the murder of unwanted babies after they are born. Gun confiscation will become commonplace as the Second Amendment is ruled unconstitutional. A myriad of new gender identities will be given Equal Rights protection, while “white privilege” is outlawed. The borders will be left wide open, with sanctuary states proclaiming national policy via new laws the Democrat Socialist president will push through Congress.
There appears to be no end to the bad policy ideas that Democrat Socialists are capable of imposing on a “woke” American public. Consider the following:
The Low-Income Housing Tax Credit created by Congress in 1986 can be expanded to finance projects designed to bring minorities out of the inner-city ghettoes to the more affluent suburbs. See Frank Muraca, “Is Affordable Housing Moving to the Suburbs?” Carolina Planning Journal, Dec. 10, 2019.
To make “affordable housing” more available to minorities, a single-family zoning ban can become a political fight in the suburbs to build duplexes and multi-family structures in areas where current zoning laws have setback requirements, height limits, and parking specifications that prohibit all but single-family homes. A national “Homeless Bill of Rights” would end the criminalization of homeless, while establishing criminal penalties for violence committed against the homeless with the aim of protecting “the civil rights of people experiencing homelessness.” The Homeless Bill of Rights would accomplish the following: (1) Protect the homeless against segregation, laws targeting homeless people for their lack of housing and not their behavior, and restrictions on the use of public space; (2) Grant privacy and property protections; (3) Allow the opportunity to vote and feel safe in their community without fear or harassment; and (4) Provide broad access to shelter, social services, legal counsel, and quality education for the children of homeless families. Legalize drugs, beginning with marijuana – a plan Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo vowed to have accomplished with new state legislation in 2020. This can be followed by legalizing prostitution between consenting adults. A bill advanced by four Democratic progressive female members of the Vermont state legislature in 2020 does just that. Ban single-use plastics, including polystyrene foam food containers, following the lead of a Denver City Council committee that last year unanimously put forward to the full City Council for a vote this year an ordinance, called the “Bring Your Own Bag Ordinance Proposal, which would place a fee on bags provided by retailers. If passed by the Denver City Council. this measure would take effect in mid-2020, mandating that grocery stores, gas stations and other retailers would charge 10 cents per single-use bag, whether plastic or paper. Retailers would keep four cents, while the City of Denver would get six cents.
Tech giants including Google, Apple, and Microsoft could be allowed to develop a national Social Credit System, emulating the data-driven system China expects to be fully operational. Based on the type of screening of “hateful” messages currently employed by social media giants like Twitter and Facebook, a national Social Credit Score would be developed “to monitor and engineer better individual and business behavior by rewarding the trustworthy and punishing the disobedient.”
Those with low Social Credit Scores would be banned from social media on the Internet, restricted in their use of credit and banking facilities, limited in luxury spending including air travel and boarding fast trains, and disqualified from certain high-paying private and all government employment. The implementation of face-recognition software in public spaces would supplement the monitoring of all electronic transactions (emails, Internet searches, credit card use, telephonic communications, etc.) to create a ubiquitous surveillance network designed to identify and restrict those considered socially unacceptable or otherwise harmful to themselves and to society – such as political dissidents and religious minorities.
In the progressive socialist world in the making, all hydrocarbons would be banned to “save the planet.” Carbon taxes would extend to taxing everything that emits carbon dioxide, meaning that ultimately, we would be taxed even for the air we breathe. The only vehicles allowed would be those running on electric power. Massive land allocations would be set aside to provide energy through solar and wind power.
If you think these proposals are far-fetched, just consider what Vermont Sen. Bernie said in the Democratic Party debate in Atlanta on Nov. 20, 2019. “Right now, you’ve got 87 million people who have no health insurance or are under-insured,” Sanders insisted. “We are facing the greatest existential crisis in terms of climate change. You’ve got 500,000 people sleeping out in the streets, and you’ve got 18 million people paying half their incomes for housing.” See Sen. Bernie Sanders, Independent – Vermont, “November Democrat Debate Transcript; 5th Debate Transcript from Atlanta, Georgia,” Nov. 21, 2019.” Obviously, Sanders means for his presidency to change all this, with government programs implemented at the expense of the American taxpayer.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren is equally expansive. “I will not embrace a plan like Medicare for All who can afford it,” she said at the Democratic Debate in October. “And I will not embrace a plan that says some people have great insurance right up until you get the diagnosis and the insurance company says, ‘Sorry, we’re not covering your expensive cancer treatments. We’re not covering your expensive treatments for M.S. [Multiple Sclerosis]. We’re not covering what you need.” See Sen. In his classic work, The Road to Serfdom, economist Fredrich August Hayek warned that “democratic socialism, the great utopia of the last few generations, is not only unachievable, but that to strive for it produces something so utterly different (and) unachievable,” such that “few of those who now wish it (socialism) would be” prepared to accept the consequences of what they have achieved. Hayek warned that socialism has its roots in totalitarianism. It promises “a great increase in material wealth” that benefits all from “an equal distribution of wealth,” but instead ends up destroying individual freedom in favor of collective authoritarianism. The U.S. presidential election of 2020 is shaping up as yet another great test of what President Abraham Lincoln described in the Gettysburg Address: namely, whether this nation, or any nation so conceived, and so dedicated, can long survive.
We conclude this edition of The Little Red Book convinced, that with the help of God, freedom in the United States will endure, at least for now.
